Dignitary Day at Veterans Legacy’s Camp Alma was a great success! On Thursday, June 28, local and state politicians attended the event that included tours of the camp, a continental breakfast and presentations from Veterans Legacy board members John Lebow, Dan Buckwald and Clarence Williams. The event brought together over 20 stakeholders in the Eugene area, including Oregon State Sen. James Manning, Lane County Sheriff Byron Trapp, Lane County Commissioners Pat Farr and Jay Bozievich, along with representatives from Trillium, Parole and Probation, and many others. All attendees are in agreement with the Veterans Legacy mission and opened an array of possibilities for funding and relationships with other area entities dealing with homeless veterans.
