Kaitlyn Huff of Troop 20136 in Oxford, Alabama received her Girl Scout Gold
Award in January 2021. This award is the highest honor a Girl Scout can achieve.
To complete the task a scout must complete all nine of the Challenge Awards,
plus six Activity badges. Kaitlyn’s admiration, love, and strong bond she shared
with her papa Jeff who passed away in 2015 led Kaitlyn to realize she really
wanted to honor his military service by doing a project that honored the
community of comradeship he so cherished. Via family connections, specifically
her Nana, Dee Boshaw, Kaitlyn chose to work with Veterans Legacy opting to
create an Honor Board designed to hold the dog tag of each Resident Veteran
completing their treatment program at Camp Alma.
