SECURE THE LEGACY
The primary goal for Veterans Legacy/Camp Alma has been to provide a safe, secure residential base for Veterans in need as they redirect themselves toward a life that is productive and successful for themselves, their families, and the community. Providing this level of support and services, with no cost to the Veteran, would be the ideal end result.
As Veterans Legacy has evolved in the nonprofit sector, we’ve learned three key facts:
1. An organization of this size and complexity CANNOT survive by grants alone.
2. Any funding that is derived from a government entity will have constraints on programing and no certainty of ongoing funding.
3. The only way to be innovative in programing for our Resident Veterans is to have a sustainable funding base allowing new care concepts to evolve.

Your monthly donation helps provide Veterans Legacy with a stable funding stream so we can continue to support Veterans and expand our programs and facilities.
Our ongoing goal is to ensure no Veteran is left behind and that all Veterans have an opportunity to find their path to a healthy and successful life.
Veterans receive this support at no charge to them, including care coordination, room and board, and much more.
Your monthly donation is vital for us to achieve sustainability and continue to serve Veterans that need us. Every dollar helps us move toward sustainability. As a 501c(3) nonprofit organization, your donation is tax deductible as allowed by law.
IMMEDIATE NEEDS!
We’ve been blessed with the donation of a pool table and dart board for the recreation room! A wall mounted TV has been added and extra furniture now make this a pleasurable venue for our Resident Veterans. We’re still in need of the following:
1. Ping Pong table that lays over the pool table – usual size is 9’x5’
2.Table shuffle board – either 16’ or 18’.
A big ticket item that we need to plan for either purchase or a generous donation of is a newer van e.g. Chrysler Pacifica. We’ve found this size SUV has been very practical for our uses. Our current vehicle is a 2003 vehicle with extreme high mileage – the odometer is broken so specifics
are not available but in excess of 140,000 miles. If you have a vehicle you want to donate please contact Jack Gartley. Remember, this is tax deductible. If you want to make a donation specifically
towards a newer vehicle, please designate as such. Thanks in advance!!!

What is needed is a committed grassroots response to annual funding needs that recognizes the challenges of working toward social change for our Veterans in need. Combining the 30,000 Veterans, their families, and friends in Lane County, generating the needed funds and “taking care of our own” is very feasible at a minimal cost if many participate. Making a small monthly donation helps smooth out the funding budget for donors and helps diminish the administrative workload for our business office.
